Hi all, I'm an engineer/analyst who does a lot of kludging around and managed somehow to start making trail maps in the evenings after work too. I'd been looking around for a GIS forum and just stumbled upon y'uns.

I'll be continuing to try to do the best I can with carto/GIS as an "other duty as assigned", with only an ArcView license level and without the $$$ for even a Maplex extension, wishing I had the artistic sensibility of many of you.
