I am about to re-enter the cartographic world after a 10-year absence working in biological sciences and I would be grateful for some advice to help me get started. I will be working in exploration geology using MapInfo for the GIS aspect. The last time I worked in this industry, I was using AutoCAD, MapInfo and CorelDraw. As I am not up to speed on the latest presentation graphics software that is available, I was wondering if anyone could suggest the best package for creating presentations from MapInfo files? Previously I used CorelDraw for this purpose and I am not sure if this is still the best option. Thank you in advance for any advice and I look forward to reading the replies
Bye for now,

Hi Jill, Thanks so much for your reply. I have already found this site very helpful and I am looking forward to my new adventure. I have picked up a lot of skills from doing a PhD in molecular genetics and working in the field of bioinformatics, which is another form of computer mapping in a sense but from a biological perspective, that I hope to apply to cartography and GIS. Karon.
Hi Karon, Welcome to CartoTalk and back to the world of cartography. I'm sure you'll find this site a great resource with some friendly folks to offer advice. - Jill
