Hi,
I have a set of about 100 GPS photos and an 18 page mapbook. I wish to label the maps with the GPS photos. My first step was to create a point shapefile with a hyperlink to each photo. I've been trying various settings in Arcmap (9.1) and delving through Google, but found nothing that tells me how to insert a photo (jpeg) into a callout label. Can this be done? It seemed fairly trivial, but I'm starting to have doubts.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve
I think it depends on the way the hyperlink is syntaxed in your attribute table. For instance, when using formatting text in the VB interface for labels, you have to put double quotes around the html tags so ArcMap reads it correctly.
Does the link work when you use the hotlinks tool?
Cheers
Dustin

You should be able to do this using Visual Basic scripting. Are you using NW Mapbook?

Thanks for the responses. The hyperlink tool works correctly. As MapMedia suggests I think I need some VB scripting that will tell the label engine to follow the link and display the image rather than display the url. I have no clue how to make this happen, so any help is appreciated.
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Sam,
Thanks for the link to ArcPhoto. I'm giving it a try. In theory it does what I want, which is great, but it's buggy, slow and far from intuitive (ESRI nailed the price point). I think I'll get what I need from it, but I would welcome alternate solutions if anyone has any to offer.
Cheers,
Steve
