Hello

I'm not a cartographer, however I am researching about the Arctic Ocean territory dispute, partially due to gas and oil reserves. I'd like to create a complimentary map showing the Arctic Ocean and its surrounding countries.

I'm only able to use what's avaliable on our lab computers, I have access to Interactive Album of Map Projections and we have flexprojector. Can any assist me and my limited experience with cartography and these programs?

Artum, what exactly is that you want to show? You would need a polar projection (centered on the pole) not a world map projection - these are commonly polar stereographic or lambert azimuthal equal-area projections.

Do you have any map software handy?

I think you should first see what you can find of maps on this case (there are plenty), and if you want to do something special - and you don't have access to map/gis software - then I would look into what you can get from e.g. stock photo/clipart repositories. - if you can get a basemap that way.

I have a polar map available on Fotosearch:

I can also modify it if you need something different.
