I am sure everyone must have copy of this on their desktop already, but just in case you don't, this is just the best little piece of free software:

It probably doesn't do as many different conversions as this, but Google has a calculation and conversion feature built in.

Try searching for 125 feet in meters or square root of 567 or 12 x 256 / 8

For those on Macintosh OS X 10.4 there is a pretty good conversion utility in the default widgets in Dashboard. If you need a more powerful solution or are running 10.3 or higher MConvert is a great shareware program.

Agreed that the built-in Widget in OS X 10.4.x is very nice, however limited...we utilize Engineering Assistance (Mac OS 9 only) from Green Mountain Software (Alabama). This was a $25 shareware a few years back...I'm not sure of its current status..

There are probably more Widgets featuring conversion options...
