I'm looking to plot one of my maps on some kind of vinyl or canvas to use as a shower curtain.

Ive seen plenty of "World Map" shower curtains out there, but they all have TERRIBLE cartography, and I just don't think I could stand to look at a terrible map every single day.

Any ideas?

So is what ur saying is you don't want to use your maps, you want to use one of my maps? jk
Cool idea!

You can do a print-your-own pic to shower curtain - anything from flickr etc.

Cool-o. They recommend at least 2000 pixel vertical images. I'd be generous with type size within that; I'm guessing there's some additional blurring effect from printing on fabric. Not clear from the FAQs what process they're using, but it's probably some kind of ink-jet, stochastic-ish screen. Have you used them, Matthew?

Cool! I guess there were people out there way ahead of me on this custom shower curtain idea!

It sounds like their process would work quite well with my idea, but for $200 USD it seems a bit steep.

I haven't tried them - but it seems like a neat idea. I am sure you could find a cheaper DIY method and get a white poly shower curtain ($15) and take it to a versatile print shop. You might save a few bucks.

I would be intrigued to see a finished piece before plunking down a couple of Franklins.

This topic kind of reminds me of a thread on another discussion board I'm on, it's made up of fans of the TV quiz show Jeopardy! - about equally split between those that haven't been on the show but want to (like me) and those that have been on the show. At least two of the people on the board who have been on the show (one of them did very well, making it to the Tournament of Champions for that year) mentioned that they had a map of the world shower curtain.

While I don't have one (I know, odd for a cartography nut not to have one but I suppose the OP has a good point about bad cartography (although, in my mind, a badly drawn map is worse than no map, if nothing else I can spend hours looking at it to find all the errors)) I've made up my mind that if I want to get on the show, I have to buys me one of those ...
