Hello, hello!

I was recently hired on as a writer for Depiction, a company which makes map simulation tools in Washington state. Depiction is for a range of users, from map enthusiasts like yourself to emergency managers planning disaster response scenarios. I don't have much background in GIS - beyond reading topo maps on hiking excursions - but am definitely interested in learning more. I found this site while I was trying to educate myself further about the field. There is so much to know!
