Zoomed out with more of the same. This is a remote and sparse populated area of the country but it accounts for the majority of this country's meat and milk production.

This is in the western subnational area of a landlocked country . . . . that should narrow it down a bit.

This country has two official languages and used to be bigger than it is now.

Someone needs to solve this as I am going to be out of Internet range for the next 4 or 5 days . . . .

Mountains to the west, this country became independent from its colonial masters in 1811 . . .

That is far western Paraguay with the Andes in Argentina to the West. Enough clues to get it. I didn't realize Paraguay had two official languages.

Ok. Continuing along the agricultural theme. Name this famous agricultural region.

Bonus points if you can name the crop.

I don't think so, I've driven this road and not seen any oranges.

Here's a wider view. This area grows many crops, and many are on trees including the one in question.

Wider view still. The city nearest this spot is just showing at the left of the image and is only 4 meters above sea level.

Well, that's the southeast corner of Manteca, California.  But they're not growing lard in those orchards.

Stone fruits?  Almonds?  Olives?  All of the above?

I didn't realize the Central Valley was so low.  I started by thinking of the Salton Sea area—which is substantially below sea level—and just kept working my way northwest until I found the interchange and distribution center.
