It is the the site of Prambanan, a 9th century compound littered with temples - a UNESCO world heritage site on Java.

You are so close I'll give it to you. I was looking for Sewu temple, which isn't far away.

"It's name in Javanese translates to 1,000 temples" and is of Buddhist origin while Prambanan is the (more well known) Hindu temple.

Cool! Have you been there?

Here is another buddhist temple. This great hall doesn't look that impressive in the aerial, but from the ground it is huge. It also houses something really big...

Correct - this is one of the World's largest wooden buildings, and it houses the World's largest statue of Buddha Varocana.

I was going to stay with the Buddha theme but while looking near a Buddha - I found this interesting and relatively unique landscape.

What is it and where is it?

Interestingly, the area outside this property switched time zones - isolating this 108 sq.mi (280 sq.km) area into a 'time island.'  After a year they switched back.

This land-locked area contains folks who are usually seafaring, however some top secret work takes place here and is excluded from Google's Street View.
