I have a series of 20 maps I want to create. I usually use the Mapbook extension for a series which has been great. I add fields to my index shapefile for titles, citations, map notes and references etc... so I can tag them to change on the map autocatically.

This series will be different, I need a new legend for each map in the series.

I currently make my more complex legends in CorelDraw and insert the .cdr file into the layout with a live link. Is there anyway to automatically "tag" the legends in my map to automatically update and call a different CorelDraw legend when I select that map in the map series? I really don't want to have to make 20 seperate ArcMap projects nor do I want to manually insert the new legend for each page in the map series.

Any advice would be great!

I am not 100% sure it would work for your particular need - but NW Mapbook is a great option. It's just like DS Mapbook - but a lot better.

Here is a link to a handout that R. Hunter from ESRI (the author) made for a conference in the past. It should have details on how to download it.

best of luck!
