Hey cartographers!

This is the official Call for Participation for the 2009 meeting of the North American Cartographic Information Society. This year our annual conference, happening, center-of-the-cartographic-universe meets in Sacramento, California, October 7-10.

As always, there are many ways to participate, from presenting a professional or an academic paper in a session, to organizing a panel or round table discussion, to displaying your work in the poster gallery. The deadline for abstracts is May 31.

If you've never been to the NACIS conference, you are in for a treat. We mix government mapmakers, sole proprietors, academics, artists, librarians, students, and many other kinds of "mapheads" for four days of intensive cartographic immersion. It takes a year to recover, then we do it again.

Download the CFP at the NACIS website.

Hope to see you there!

Margaret Pearce
2009 Program Chair
