How do your surroundings influence and/or encourage you in your daily routine as a cartographer.
How do you manage to motivate yourself?
Can we help others to obtain that ”get up and go” feeling?
You’re only as good as your last project. How do we keep the ball rolling?

N.B. Fun comments are just as welcome as serious ones. In actual fact it may be ‘humour’ that keeps us all sane and in work!
Anybody know any crazy cartographers anywhere?

I have switched offices since then,
Not the most tidy workspace, but it works for me!

Nice idea! Here's my workspace. The framed maps are cut-outs from a book on the history of cartography. I have a sticky note from my mom that says "Great work!" up on my bulletin board. She had put it on one of my many chapter drafts that she edited for my cartography book. I also have some laminated field guides up that make me think that maybe I'll make it out of this office some day... Also a quote from Alan Weiss and some pics from a recent Landscape Architecture magazine.

I had not realized until I took this photo, but near my computer (where I'll see them more) I've got family pix and drawings from my kids. Further from my computer are the work-related certificates and awards. Guess that shows what I really want to see while I'm here!

its funny how we keep crossing paths.
and we will cross again and miss each other in Minnesota
