Something that came up at the First Annual Cartotalk dinner: a list of companies willing and able to do custom cartographic work. I'll fill it with the ones I know off the top of my head for the moment, if you want to be included (or if you know a company that should be included), please PM me.

Springer Cartographics (Nick Springer)
Alpine Mapping Guild (Martin Gamache)
Chicago Cartographics (Dennis McClendon, aka chicarto)
Red Geographics (Hans van der Maarel)
tonnhaus design (Derek Tonn, aka datonn)
Hema Maps (Chrystar)
Craig Asquith Cartography (Craig)
Geocentric Custom Maps (Jim Blakeslee)

I propose to keep the list in this format and lock this topic, so me and the other mods can go in and edit just this single post. Nick pointed out that the list of GIS data resources is very nice and useful, but because it's all in different posts it's difficult to find information quickly.
