What are some good ways to create high points of elevation layer?
What I'm really looking for is an automatic way to extract them from a DEM. Does anyone know of such a way? But any/all insights are appreciated.
I can pretty easily go through a DRG quad or DEM, but I'm covering a wide area and making a map for aerial operations. So they like to have every high point elevation labeled. So an DEM scripts, or software solution would be great.
Peaks, Mtns, high points creation?

IIRC Global Mapper can extract them from a DEM.
