I am looking for a text file with US state outline position.

I want to import an outline of each of the US states in the software Processing,
and I need the format of the file to be text.

Is there an introduction Geo book, or a data base which has this information?

I found a free outline of states in Adobe Illustrator format, but I cannot find how to extract the
location of the vertices from AI to text.

The outline can be very course. It is for a course exercise generating a colored map with the colors
mapping on a variable.

Processing can add a dot of various size on the map, but apparently it does not include state shapes
so I can manipulate the color of the shape itself.

I don't have access to a GIS software. Perhaps I could find a library with GIS software on one of their computers?

Are you looking for a list of lat/lon values for every state? Or a "WKT" description?

I think either a list of lat/lon values for every state, Or a "WKT" description would work.
As long as I can manipulate the data with a program and extract information from which I can build
a closed shape.
