Hello All -
I first have to say that I only have six months of mapping experience, so the reason that these may seem amateur is because they are.
I'm a volunteer in the charming village of Figuig, Morocco, and I started this project as a way to have tourists experience Figuig as I have. I was also inspired by the result of generating some income for community groups here. There are beautiful groves of palm trees in every direction from the center of town, but I have yet to see a single tourist exploring them. I hope to have a group of Figuigis choose some of the best places to share with other people throughout the town. These points will be added as numbers, then put onto a legend. The town is separated by a number of neighborhoods as seen on the map.
Elevation is from 90m pixel SRTM data, I think that's the name
Paths are GPS tracks
Distinction of houses and palms were hand drawn from georeferenced google image (I'm sure there is a better method)
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Particularly in the pixelated elevation data in the Figuig Baghdad file and connecting the polygons that have small sections missing (ArcMap tool?).
I also included the georeferenced google image in 3d (10x exaggerated) to give some understanding of the town.
Thanks

Hello Nathan
Seems like a great project.Nicely done.

-Les Treks principal should be Les treks principaux (C,est quoi des treks?)
-Kilometers in your bar should be Kilometres

For your last image- the 3D one. Here is a trick to enhance the color so the trees dont look like coal heaps.
Bring into Photoshop
Menu bar> image> adjustments> Selective color>neutral> diminish black> enhance yellow and play around with other colors till it looks right.
Bonne Chance

you will have also to reduce the black (same process as for neutral)
Here is a quick look how your greenery can be well, green

I also new to making maps. I think you should use an inset and focus on the area of interest. The pdf Figuig%20General.jpg had elevation lines and it seems that is what you wanted to show. Some of the labels were below the lines so they were hard to see. If you can't change this I've seen maps that have halos. You could also change the color of line to something lighter. You are probably done with the map. Overall I like them.
