Need a VB script/macro for ArcMap 9.3 that can automate the production of 800 maps - one shapefile, 800 polygons, using a preset map layout.
More details on request. Looking for someone who has done this before and can provide a purely customized script that will step thru a shapefile,
center each polygon, update map title and legend, and export PDF until <end of record>.

Just wondering if you have looked into DS MapBook. I don't know if it is compatible for 9.3 but I know it works with 9.2. Pretty simple to use and does exactly what you want. You would just need to export to PDF after the maps are created.

Seconded. Plus it does work in 9.3 and will batch export to pdf or Ai.

Thank you - MapBook is indeed a good tool. It seems this requirement has some custom parts, such as hiding neighboring polygons and updating map title. Is that possible with MapBook?

You'll probably need NW Mapbook for dynamic definition queries, but either can update map titles.

That sounds great - can't find the MapBook on the ftp site though. Any idea where it is?

Right, I found it now. Had to use ftp client, not http.

I just figured out how to do the dynamic filter - to show only the selected p[polygon per map, hiding others. Awesome feature.
