Anyone have suggestions for books on how to use AI CS2 as it for cartography and general use?
Something like:
* Intro to AI CS2 and Cartographic Design
* AI CS2 for Dummies
Thanks,

WOW Book
I have a copy of the AICS version, there is a few articles on map making techniques and the entire book is a very useful for learning various aspects of Illustrator. The Wow books are good because they show great art made with the software and explain the techniques used to make them. They are also good regardless of your skill level with the software showing both advanced and basic techniques.
Combined with the basic manual that comes with the software or with the help files it should be suffcient to figure out how to do most things.
Just remember that AI is just a tool, as is Mapublisher...despite the hype flashing on the banner above, you can make beautiful maps without mapublisher.

Mike,
My favorite is: How to Do Everything with Illustrator CS. Doesn’t have much about maps but is a complete tour of Illustrator.
From my knowledge there is a “CS for Dummies” book published by John Wiley and Sons.
