I originally played around with the color ramps too much and ended up with a monotone green color ramp (which, of course, I liked!) that didn't come across very well.

In the end, that's the most important thing! From experience, I could never please everybody with my colors and styles (and I refuse to admit it's because I can't do it ;) ).

I read the highway and county lines backwards. To me, it's somehow "natural" for county lines to be a thin white interruption of the physiography, but towns and highways need to lie on the landscape in a darker color.
