I want to measure total length of a line in on a map.
Can the Measure Tool be used to measure cumulative distance?
I cannot seem to accomplish this.

I don't think this is possible with the measure tool. There used to be some CAD plug-ins in older versions of AI that would do this but I don't believe they are still around. At least I couldn't find them doing a quick web search.
