I bumped into this today which happened to coincide with its preview release. I downloaded it and successfully loaded a shapefile - but that's all I can comment on at this point.

Here is the press release:

ClueTrust has finally released the first preview version of Cartographica, our Macintosh GIS product. We hope that you will all come visit the MacGIS website to find out what it's all about and participate in the preview. We're very excited about the release and are looking forward to hearing from you about your comments and suggested features.

Here is a link to their site. Appropriately called MacGIS.

Here is a post from Ogle Earth which actually shows a chloropleth. I think he accurately contextualized the software as being more for the general public rather than professionals.
