I would like to know your opinion on open source GIS software. Until now I've been using ArcView but i would like to give a try on the open source applications, basically just because i like the idea of the open source. I'm not a expert user thought i have some specific needs that require advanced toolkits. Of course i don’t expect finding all these on a free GIS software.
After a quick search a came across QGIS and MapWindow and i will give them a try. So does anybody use any of them or any other that is handy and has a bit of power toolboxes?
Thanks
