Help with NED downloads and Seamless Server

I’m trying to download some NED data from the Seamless Server and am unable to view the Request Summary page.
I’m on an Intel iMac running OS X 10.5.5. I have used both Safari 3.1.2 and Firefox 3.0.3. Popup’s are not blocked. I access the server at http://seamless.usgs.gov/index.php. Select US Data, zoom the map window to N. California. Set the download layer to 1” NED. Select the “Define Rectangular Download Area” button and draw a green rectangle around N. CA (roughly Oregon border to Bay Area, Nevada border to coast). A new blank window opens briefly followed by an error message saying the extract server is not responding.
Am I missing any steps here? I did this last week for the first time and got a request summary page with links to all the files I had selected for download, but now I get nothing.
Thanks,
Dave

I had downloaded 1/3 sec data for a small area for a trial and I was lucky to get it in the first go. Do let me know the extent and I will try it for you.
