Hi all. I just got into this site about a month ago. What a nice surprise! I really love how the people here are into aesthetic as well as the analytical type maps.

I just got my GIS cert from American River College, and now am gainfully employed as a GIS/CAD technician. One thing I noticed being in the real world, is the amount of software that is available to the mapping world. ARC college is definitely ARCGis, however since I been working for about a year now, I use AUTOCAD Map just as much(which they don't teach at the GIS curriculum) and use photoshop/illustrator about 10% of the rest.
