Has anyone found a way to get Arcview to output a greyscale map (in the case, US counties with population data) with 256 shades of grey?
I need to take the resulting image into Bryce to create a terrain based on the population numbers.
All I can get from Arcview is a grey map with 102 shades of grey.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks!
Stephen

Try creating new colors in the style editor.
colors.jpg 59.75K
44 downloads
You could use the name of each color as an attribute to symbolize population.

Tree,
I have an .avl file that allows you to have a supported legend of 360 categories. We had to import the Arcview 3 legend from the symbology tab to have 360 colours for our Aspect Map.
When I try to attach the .avl to this reply it tells me that I am not permitted to upload such file type. So if this is what you need, let me know and maybe I can send it to you another way.
