Hi everyone,
I'm a GIS Specialist in Toronto. I'm interested in developing my cartographic skills and have been reading some of the posts here and also doing some Illustrator tutorials. I don't have MAPublisher and was wondering what the best way would be to get MapInfo files into Illustrator. I've opened some of my pdf maps in Illustrator but they seem to be very complex; when I try to use the release to layers option a huge number of layers are created. Am I really stuck without MAPublisher or is there another way to get my files into Illustrator? Thanks very much!

Hello Lyd, and welcome to Cartotalk.
MAPublisher is certainly worth considering if you want to move MapInfo data into Illustrator. Have you tried the demo yet?
