I've been watching the BBC series "20th Century Battlefields" and love how the hosts use animated maps to describe history. At various points, they pull out this briefcase looking thing and open it up and inside is a computer generated board, like a living game of Risk! It makes me smile every time they do this! You can see one in action on YouTube at time 1:05 and again at 3:50.

I guess that using some kind of "blue screen" table and tracking camera (camera that logs its position) this shouldn't be a big problem. Anyway it is perfectly done.

My favourite combination: maps and military campaigns. Thanks for the great distraction. I'll have to watch the entire series now!
