hi.
i have a big image of city that contains land and sea. i have created the land layer. is there a way that i can create the sea layer using some analysis tool ? (since the sea layer is the subtraction of the land from the image )
i think the Erase feature will do this but unfortunately it is in the ArcInfo license, and i have ArcEditor 9.2.
thank you
How i can invert the selection of layers ?

not knowing what your land layer looks like, but you can create a new polygon sea layer around the land object (or part of it) and use the clip feature in ArcToolbox to clip out the part that your land intersects with it. To create a new polygon (object) start an edit session and use the edit tools.
