Just wanted to say 'hi' before NACIS next month. (Long time lurker, first time poster.)

I recently started my graduate studies under George McCleary at the University of Kansas. Before that, I had the good fortune to learn a great deal from Dennis Fitzsimons at the Humboldt State University in the beautiful redwoods of California.

My current focus is on improving American geographic literacy by using cartography. And after having the opportunity to teach both at-risk teenagers and geography/GIS undergraduates, I really do believe cartography's death has been greatly exagerrated. I would say it's more like unmet demand. :)

Anyways, thanks to Nick for creating a place to have ourselves a community. Looking forward to meeting up in Salt Lake City!
