The British Cartographic Society's - OS MasterMap® Competition

Purpose of the Competition:

This new and unique competition is being run to encourage innovative and stimulating map products derived from, and composed mainly of, Ordnance Survey's OS MasterMap data. The competition is being run by The British Cartographic Society (BCS) with the support of Ordnance Survey®.

Who Can Enter?

If you have a current OS MasterMap licence you can submit any map you have generated using your dataset.

If you currently do not have an OS MasterMap licence but would like to enter, Ordnance Survey is making sample data available for you to use.

The map can be anything from a large-format wall map for use by the public through to maps on mobile phone screens. If you create your own design using colours, shading, symbols or just a subset of the full database, you may be surprised how innovative it could be.

The only criteria is that the map is solely derived from OS MasterMap data or has had additional information of your own added to enhance the OS MasterMap base. What is important is that the resulting map contains a large part of the original OS MasterMap data. Medium- and small-scale derived maps, such as town plans, where the majority of the OS MasterMap data is not included, are not eligible.
