Interesting . . . how the the line style changes from double lined roads to single lined roads when you flip from the regular version to the terrain version. Also, the terrain intervals appear but it would be nice to have values and/or units associated with them. and, while I'm at it, it be helpful to know what the different shades of green are supposed to indicate . . . . oh, wait - there are values on the contour lines - 100 m intervals?? I guess I was looking at the "hillshading."

At the same time it looks like they've removed the trails (non roads) that were shown previously in the general map view... perhaps they are planning on adding them to the Terrain view soon? It would definitely be useful info.

The way Google is amassing Geospatial data and adding features to Google Map and Google Earth, the day seems not far, when it will have its online mapping software. And probably one would generate maps online, edit them to suit one's requirement and print or may be convert to .ai or GIS formats. Or it is already existing?? Any comments...Google now added topo lines to their maps. What's next?

I was facing similar problems with IE, so I installed Mozilla Firefox and it works fine. I am not certain but Google Map installs some activex controls and they may conflict with certain browser settings; the root cause of browser crashing.Need help

Using Safari 3.1.1. I have no problems at all with Google Maps.
My system (OS X 3.9) does not accept Safari 3.1. I was wondering if anybody knows whether google maps no longer works with Safari 1.3 or whether I simply have a bug in my Safari.
