We have a requirement to convert data from Shape to DXF using ArcGIS. We understand from the process that a template is needed to transfer the data into.
Do we need to build these ourselves or is there a magical store of existing templates somewhere that we can adapt?

John,
To roll our GIS data into the 9-1-1 dispatch system here we need to export some of our data to DXF. We then bring this into MicroStation DGN file format. However, the export to DXF is a pretty easy process if a free utility called exportDXF is used. This utility can be downloaded from ESRI's support page at: http://arcscripts.es....asp?dbid=12765.
This utility basically exports to DXF any selected item in ArcGIS.
I hope this helps.
