Hello all,

I am a student at NSCC attending the Dartmouth Waterfront campus.

I am currently working on a student project dealing with my hometown, Greenwood Nova Scotia and I need some realistic pointers on where I might be able to find a topographical map of Greenwood for use in a short documentary.

Thank you,

T.Wiley

I cannot help you related to your Greenwood, NS request, but I did want to quickly take a minute to say "Hello!" and welcome to CartoTalk! If you love maps and map design, this is an awesome, awesome site. Enjoy!

Geogratis has all of the National Topographic Series of maps, both 1:50,000 and 1:250,000 in raster format. Do a search for Greenwood and select the sheet you want.

Have you tried GeoNOVA? http://gov.ns.ca/Geo...ome/default.asp
I haven't looked around there lately, but hopefully there's some way to get some data for Nova Scotia's 1:10K topo series -- though the scale may be a little large for your purpose.

Hey isn't COGS in Lawrencetown? What course are you taking?

"There is much beauty that we fail to see through our own eyes teeming with life forms that give us that perception of our reality.  Leaves on the trees blowing gently in the wind, or scarily, the waves pounding through high surf, or lightly on a warm summer’s day; that opportunity to sit or swim in the water on a white beach.   That comfort to shout, “The universal conscious do you hear me?  I am alive, guide me dear logos towards the path of rightnesses.”  Earned what has been kept, no longer to be absorbed into a life filled with cold damn winds and  that stubborn fog clouding  my vision with nothing but darkness."

You have to be careful with what you select, the towns tend to be separate from the county data. And where Mr. Wiley wants a Topographic Map of Greenwood he should download the free Topographic dataset from the National Topographic Database located at geogratis.cgdi.gc.ca/

However if Mr. Wiley wanted to purchase a simple Topographic paper map he should simply buy the 1:50000 21A15 sheet from the Nova Scotia Geomatics Centre
