Has anyone tried the script available on DirectionsMag that converts MapIfo files to Google Earth xml? I'm just curious as to how it works (don't have MapInfo myself).

I've just done some stuff from mid/mif to kml, but I ran it through FME, works like a charm. Haven't tried the script from Directions Mag, but given that kml is a simple xml format, I expect the process to be easy whichever route you take.

Rudy,
I haven't used the script myself so I can't say how well it performs. If you are interested in seeing how it works then the MapBasic source code has been included, so you could download this and have a look the code. You don't need MapBasic/MapInfo to view the source code as you can open it with any text editor, like Notepad. MapBasic is very similar to BASIC/VB, so if you are familir with these or other programming languages then MapBasic won't pose a problem!
I'd be happy to help out with any queries you have regarding MapBasic as I use it at work.
Greg.
