Greetings,
Just thought I'd say hello and introduce myself. Just came across this site today and thought it looked interesting. I work with the Gulf Coast Joint Venture (a collaborative partnership between federal, state, and local governments, non-profit organizations, and landowners devoted to bird habitat conservation) in Lafayette, LA as the GIS/RS Analyst.
I work mainly with ArcGIS and Imagine with a healthy dose of Photoshop and Freehand.
Look forward to interacting with you all!

In a previous life I did some work with the USGS on lake sediment contaminents in Lake Pontchartrain. Might possibly relate to what you are doing now.

I could swear I just met someone else from that project at the Avenza class in San Diego last month. We didn't get a chance to socialize so I didn't catch many names.

I was in SD for the ESRI UC...but I'm afraid I didn't attend an Avenza class (I'm afraid I don't even know what Avenza is 
)

Does Professor Lynn Usery still teach at the University of Georgia? I had him as a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

As far as I know Dr. Usery is still teaching many of the advanced GIS Analysis and Remote Sensing courses at UGA. If I remember correctly he also works for the USGS, so every now and then he disappears for a few months and then reappears to teach a few courses.
p.s.
Hopefully you were spared the wrath of hurricance Katrina? Last year hurricane Ivan was kind enough to place three giant Pecan trees on the top of my house. Scary stuff. Erin
