Hello;
I have to create about 20 profiles of mountains tracks. The only available surface source for that area is srtm 90. The accuracy and the resolution eleminate this as a source. I wonder if there is any way just to digitize some countours with 20m interval which cross with the tracks and just using them create something what should remind DEM just for parts where tracks are. glad to hear any solutions, ideas, or comments
regards
Gregory

that should work well. i would create a tin from the contours, then create an autoprofile in software of choice, and then insert into AI where you can smooth out any steps and have full control over the look of the graph. that's about the method i used to create a whole series similar to the attached.

it was also my intention to follow that workflow, i'm just wonder if it's posiblle to create TIN, DEM or whatever that let me create autoprofile from such a small set of the countours (those one just crossing the track). I will try it.
thanks
