This seems quite an interesting job, shame I've just accepted another offer!

AERONAUTICAL CARTOGRAPHER -
London, UK

Starting salary from £27,615 p.a.

CHARTING THE WAY TO SUCCESS
The CAA’s Directorate of Airspace Policy is the national airspace approval and regulator authority for aeronautical information and charting in the UK. We currently have responsibility for the production and publication of a number of graphic products that form part of the UK integrated Aeronautical Information Publication package.

As a cartographer with an ONC/BTEC in Surveying and Cartography, or similar, and an interest in aviation, you will have the opportunity of joining a small professional team of like-minded people producing aeronautical charts of the UK. These charts fulfil internationally agreed criteria and are used throughout the aviation industry.

Ideally, you will have experience of using Adobe Illustrator software with GIS functionality to produce Instrument Approach procedure charts for UK licensed airports. The successful candidate will be able to work with minimal direction against agreed timescales as well as being a team player with good analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.

In return for your skills and dedication, you will work with a great team of colleagues who have a real sense of achievement and satisfaction in their work. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including an excellent pension plan.

To apply, please visit our website at CAA to download our application form. Alternatively, email for an application form to recruitment.london@caa.co.uk Completed forms should be sent to: HR Operations, Room 703, CAA House, 45-59 Kingsway, London WC2A 6TE. CVs will not be accepted.
Closing date for applications: 7th January 2008.
