Hey guys,

I thought I would (re)introduce myself here though I have met some of you already at NACIS. I wasn't able to go this year so didn't get my NACIS "fix."

One of the reasons (beside finances) is that I have been made editor of Cartographica, or better put I have accepted the job of editor. We're looking for new ways to get the word out about the journal (without of course detracting from CP!) and I would love for Cartotalk members to get something from the journal. Some already are: both Margaret Pearce and John Krygier are on the new Editorial Board for example.

In that light I was wondering if anybody from the Chicago area (or who can get to the Chicago area) would be interested in writing a review of the Festival of Maps for Cartographica. The review can be short or long, personal, whimsical or serious and scientific--we'd be interested.

The Festival as a whole is pretty big so there's no expectation of hitting every event. But it's obviously a significant mapping happening (which I am sadly unable to get to). So if anybody is interested please do contact me and thanks!

Hi Hans. Well maybe! In any case I'm glad to be here.
