I am a decorative painter and new to this group.
I have always had a fascination for maps and have a small collection of books about antique maps.
I have been asked to paint an antique stye map and I am searching for ornamental fonts like those used on antique maps such as those of John Speed.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Sharon (Painter)

Hello Sharon,
ESRI has released a number of historic fonts, but mainly for symbols if I recall correctly:
Historic Map Effects with ArcGIS
This thread may have some useful information as well:
Type Fonts
Other than that, I would try searching myfonts.com and/or other online font resources.
Hope this helps.

Hi Sharon,
If you are after 'ye olde worlde' type fonts, we have a thread on our fantasy map guild dedicated to this subject which you can find here
In particular I would recommend Crazy Diamond fonts which are all historical.
All the best
