Globe4D, an interactive, four-dimensional globe. It’s a projection of the Earth’s surface on a physical sphere. Saw it on tv yesterday in a Mythbusters-like show. Looks pretty cool...

Its kind of like a big trackball mouse and a projector.
When price drops, it will be such a cool coffeetable.

Wow, really cool, and I like the solution - it not being too high-tech.

very nice. i love seeing new ways of sharing complex information.
my only question is...do i have to be a kid to play with it?

cool, did you see it in real life Hans? It seems like it is run by an overhead projection.

I didn't see it in real life, but I did send them an email about their data model (of course my 2nd thought was: how do I get my own data on there!!!). According to what I've seen on tv, it is indeed run by an overhead projector.
Analisa,
my only question is...do i have to be a kid to play with it?
Of course not

I assume mars was there - one of the video clips was showing a selection of another planets, and I saw something with the moon. No 4D though - maybe you can't even call it 3D (it is a globe, but no depth).
(I assume the fourth dimension in 4D is time)
