Hi,

i am trying to model the galapagos for an exhibit design project. I am modeling it in cinema 4d and apparently can import .dem files easily, however I cannot find any .dem files or any files that will be easily converted (im a mac)

any help would be amazing!

Have you tried SRTM data (~90m resolution)? What kind of 3D terrain formats can Cinema 4D import?

http://www.rsgis.ait...ris/ecuador.htm

seems to have dem information, but the format is .asc and i cannot find a suitable conversion program for mac that makes it a .dem file, which Cinema can import.

Apparently cinema can ONLY import .dem for this type of information

(terragen couldnt open any of the formats either)
