I understand that Survey of India Topomaps are on Polyconic Projection, Could anyone please suggest the input parameters like Merdian, False Easting to be taken for Survey of India Topo Maps of 1:50K., 250K and 25K.

I also came across on map published NATMO -stating it is on "International Modified Polyconic Projection"

Whether any differences exist among

Polyconic (American)

International Modified polyconic

International Map of the World -Polyconic

These names are being used , are they synonimous?

Thanks

P.S : Is this the right place for the question, if not pl move it appropriate palce pl, this is my first visit and question

You can find information on this projection on the internet. For example, there's a 10-page essay on the use of this projection in India's mapping here: http://www.itc.nl/~r...S_India_7_3.pdf
I haven't read it through to find out whether or not it addresses your questions, but it's a start.
