Also, are you looking to manage a single map, or multiple maps?

I'm trying to avoid having the google logo. I'm also thinking about "skinning" googlemaps to give it a different look. anyone out there familiar with that process?
In addition to what I sent you over PM, you should look into Zeemaps. Most mapping programs/providers/services that I have seen or encountered don't offer a "public update" feature.
Also, are you looking to manage a single map, or multiple maps?

DIY Map
http://www.backspace.com/mapapp/
A clickable, zooming map written in Flash and colored by data from an external text file.
The external data file makes it easy to customize and update state colors, add points, and use the same Flash file many times in the same Web page with different data sets.
VGMap
http://vgmap.eyebeamresearch.org/
VGMap is a new library created by Eyebeam R&D that allows designers, developers, and mapping geeks to overlay data on top of Google Maps in a richer way than is possible using their standard system. It is called VGMap because it adds vector-drawing capability to the already-awesome GMap API.
and WorldKit
http://worldkit.org/index.php
worldKit is an easy to use and flexible mapping application for the Web. Light weight GIS. It's a SWF based app, configured by XML, data fed by RSS. Stand-alone use or integration in larger projects.

Thank you for your help Ben and everyone else. FYI - VGMap is not being supported and shouldn't be used according the developer Mike Frumin.
