I've been doing quite a bit of work in that area and at the NACIS conference I'll be doing a presentation on the systems I've set up for some of my clients.

Hans,

Glad to hear you will be attending. Looking forward to meeting you and anyone else from the board. Maybe we can arrange a cartotalk dinner or minggler one night.

I've moved this post into a new topic so that we can discuss a Cartotalk meeting at the upcoming NACIS conference in Salt Lake City, October 12th-15th.

Anybody who is interested in meeting up, please post here and we'll try and make it all happen. Martin's suggestion of a Cartotalk dinner is a very good one, so let's try to at least arrange that.

I'm planning to arrive on the 10th, late in the evening, and will be available all day on the 11th for meeting/sightseeing.

I had a few meetings with Cynthia Brewer at the ESRI User Conference and she told me about NACIS. I am trying to get registered for the conference sometime. But it would definitely be nice to meet some of the members on here.

I'm arranging the program. I can put something in the program about a CartoTalk confab to catch the eye of nonmembers. Wednesday late afternoon after PCD would work well, or Thursday just after sessions end at 5.30.

I'll be there mid-day 12th to early 15th, so Wed/Thur work well for me. Looking forward to the get together.

Things in my schedule this year have changed, so it looks like I will be able to come to Salt Lake City this year.

I will be arriving sometime during the day on Wednesday (hopefully early), and leaving Friday night. Sounds like a Thursday meeting would fit within everyone's schedule.

EDIT: I was just thinking we will all have to wear name tags with our CartoTalk usernames and avatar images so we know who everyone is :P

Online registration will be available later this month or in Sept I think. I know it is suppose to be offered this year. There was a mailing done in July with some general info but I have not gotten a registration package yet.

Probably the best thing for you all to do would be to meet over lunch, since we don't provide lunch at NACIS (perhaps we ought to).

Dennis & Martin, perhaps we could have the CartoTalk attendees be the Map-Off judges (and/or participants). We need some new blood.

Glad to see so many of you coming to NACIS. It really is a great meeting.

I have tried to summarize the possible options in the poll above. My choice is to meet on Wednesday so we know who everyone is for the rest of the meeting.

Hi Carto Talkers,

Will just be missing it by a not so wide margin. Hope someone will post some pictures and a writeup.

Regards,

Looks like a Wednesday meet-up is the winner. I guess we should work out a few details as the date is approaching.

Maybe it can be a dinner event? I don't know much about everything else going on that day or Salt Lake City, so anyone want to volunteer to put this event together?
