Ladies and Gents,
wonder if anyone can help me here but I'm trying to combine 2 grid files and get a min and Max range from the sum.
Logically the Min and Max always changes for the two rasters as they are more or less in the same geographic area.
I want the high and low values to remain the same but just join the two.
Is there anyway I can do this. I've tried MERGE and it gets pretty close but is there any caviat I can use to make the extreme
value remain the same?
Cheers

I'm sorry, but I am not sure I really understand... Can you elaborate on "combine 2 grid files and get a min and Max range from the sum". Are you talking about a map calculation/algebra, or some kind of neighborhood or summary (the whole grid) statistics?
What software do you have at hand?

if you are running ArcGIS Spatial Analyst (or ArcInfo GRID) - you might want to look into COMBINE - that could be what you are looking for.
