Hi All,
I am looking for the VMAP0 world data set in shapefile format. Is it available for free online and has no restrictions of use? I'm hoping it would have attributed data still attached. If it is not available for free does anyone know who supplies this data for a price?
Regards,
Damien

Damien,
As far as I know, there's no VMAP0 shapefiles available. However, I may be able to help you out in providing you shapefiles. Contact me privately (hans-at-redgeographics-dot-com) if you're interested.

You are looking for VMAP vector products? They are available here:
NGA Raster Roam downloads
Click on the map GUI - there are 4 quads I believe (Eur, N. Am, S. Am, Asia), then scroll down and you will see vmap file (i.e. v0noa.gz.zip for north america quad).

I had no experience with FWTtools but accroding to information i found at
http://freegeotools....or-data-to.html
its a comand version program (i mean ogr2ogr which allow to convert coverages to shapefiles) what can take a lot of time.
Anyway there is a solution written by author
"I've written a simple Windows GUI front-end for ogr2ogr, that allows you to select the ArcINFO coverage directory graphically, and which converts all four types of coverage files at once; click on the link above to download it in zipped format. It's called, oddly enough, ArcINFO2Shape GUI, and is a whopping 12KB download."
hope it help
