I recently saw some example of several maps for the same city. One of which was the city at night with a variety of night spots and places to hang out, drink, party etc...

I'm not sure where I saw this particular example but I'd be interested in any examples of this type of maps to get some ideas for "night" styles/designs.

If anyone has anything to offer for suggestions it would be much appreciated.

Was the map of the city at night solid black?

All I can think of are those nightime views from space that NASA makes.

I am curious if you have some example to get us on the right page.

It was definitely a reversed figure ground approach with mostly black, nice yellow and whites icons, some hot pink too if I remember correctly, it may have been for Washington DC.

Check out the small atlas titled "FLASH MAPS WASHINGTON DC", my copy is c1994 and published by Fodors. It has many maps in unusual color schemes including DC as Venice with blue road canals at night, also the pinkest map I've seen.
