Am experimenting with a 1920's design for an upcoming travel magazine piece (graphic width = 2.5"). I am especially looking for font and compass rose alternatives.
Well, I like the colors, but Peignot wasn't drawn until 1937.
I would suggest Cooper Black or Cheltenham as appropriate for the times, but if the magazine art director demands something over the top, you could use something like this display face, sometimes called Broadway: http://www.shinntype...st/Lincoln.html
Nice Lincoln ad, Dennis. I am using Exotic 350 Demi-Bold BT, a Peignot (like you said, 1937), so indeed I am on the hunt for a font in use during the 20's. I'll look into your suggestions - many thanks.
