SENIOR CARTOGRAPHER

NYSTROM, Herff Jones Education Division, is the leading publisher of hands-on social studies materials for students and teachers in the K-12 market. Our products include maps, globes, atlases, electronic media, and curriculum programs. We have been helping teachers teach and students learn for 100 years.

We currently have an exceptional opportunity at our Chicago location for an experienced, professional Senior Cartographer who will act as the general editor and manager for a wide variety of exciting maps, globes, and atlases for the K-12 school market. Responsibilities include developing and editing content, designing maps, preparing map assignments, directing production cartographers, and managing project schedules and budgets.

To qualify, job candidates will have:
• A degree in Geography.
• Professional publishing experience in cartographic design and production.
• Excellent visual and editorial skills with a flair for creativity and attention to detail.
• Solid project management skills.
• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Quark Xpress, and Microsoft Office applications.
