Good day, I am interested in geographical information systems but I am a beginner in this area. I have some dted level 0 files which I would like to merge to form a bigger DTED file. Then I would like to convert these files into Open Flight or Meta Flight files. As I am new in this area, I made a search on the Web, and came across your site. Could you please tell if there exists such a program which can perform the the operations that I mentioned above. I'd apprecaite if you could help me.
Thank you very much

Hello, GDAL.org can read DTED and produce merged datasets, but it can't write DTED (AFAIK).

Manifold.net can also read (but not write) DTED, and it's a GUI and easy to merge things (see doc) but it's not free.

If some other output format can work for you then this might be of use. I don't know what "Open Flight or Meta Flight" files are, so if you can give more information on that I'm happy to check it out.
